Yummy garden goodness!

It's so strange to think that our time in Swan River is coming to an end.  It seemed like we had so much time to spend here but now, it's down to days.  Kirsi and Aidan have had so much fun here.  They love playing with Nana and Papa's Fisher Price toys, the ones their daddy and uncles played with as kids.  Even though the weather hasn't been fantastic, we've tried to spend as much time outside as we can.  But those darn mosquitoes!  They're insane here!!  Honestly, those things can ruin the summer for you.  The kids don't seem to mind when they're outside, though, so they want to be out and play.  Auntie Rhonda has brought some toys over too and they love to ride around on the motorcycle and quad and play with the little car mountain and send the cars flying down.

Brody and Hannah have become Kirsi and Aidan's new best friends.  Hannah has introduced Polly Pockets and shopping to Kirsi.  We took Hannah shopping on Saturday and Kirsi got right into looking at the clothes on the rack and checking out all the different things.  When Hannah went to try something one, Kirsi wanted to know where she was going.  It was the first time she'd seen a changing room and had no idea what was going on.  :)  So, she had to go in too.  Aidan loves running around and goofing around with Brody; he just giggles when they play together.  We walked over to Ian and Rhonda's house yesterday and Aidan knew which house was theirs.  He pointed to it and said, "Brody's house".  Brody has also introduced the rodeo to Aidan and apparently, A loves it.  Last night, just before bed, the bull riding was on so Brody asked Aidan if he'd like to watch it.  Aidan started running towards the basement but he stopped near me, looked at me, pointed his finger at me and said, "Rodeo!" and then kept running.  Too funny.

On Friday and Saturday, we had a big garage sale.  Der wanted to go through the stuff that we had stored in Del and Ilene's garage from the year we lived here.  So, we spent Wednesday and Thursday going through stuff and getting it priced.  It was neat to see our stuff again and going through it all.  On Friday, we thankfully had a perfect day for the sale (meaning, no rain) and it started earlier than we had thought because we put the signs up too early.  But, it was all worth it because we got a lot of people on Friday afternoon.  That's when most of the stuff went.  We did have some people come on Saturday morning but it was raining off and on so it wasn't the best weather.

Papa's garden is early this year so we've been able to enjoy bunches and bunches of raspberries while we've been here.  Yum, yum, yum!  He's also been out to pick saskatoons and Kirsi loves those.  There are a few peas ready and the carrots are starting too along with the lettuce so we've been able to enjoy lots of fresh garden produce.  I love it and so do the kids!  Nana has been busy making raspberry pies and saskatoon pies - delicious!

If there's one more nice day out before we leave, I'm sure Der will head up to Whitefish Lake for one more fishing day with Papa.  He loves getting out on the water so I'm hoping the sun will come for a day!
